GlyphGo Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes data handling practices for the GlyphGo desktop application on macOS, covering gesture recognition, local configurations, and system permissions.
1. Gesture Input and Local Settings
GlyphGo processes global mouse-button events, pointer positions, and configured modifier keys to recognize gestures and run the actions you bind. Gesture templates, names, trigger settings, action URLs, application and file paths, shortcuts, shell commands, excluded application paths, and tool preferences are stored locally in config.json in the GlyphGo application-support/configuration folder. A previous valid copy is kept as config.json.bak for recovery. These JSON files are not an encrypted secret store; avoid placing credentials in names, URLs, or commands. The browser development preview stores its settings in localStorage instead.
2. System Integration and Temporary Text
The macOS implementation uses Accessibility and Input Monitoring permissions for global input and shortcut execution. It can inspect local application and file information to show names and icons, and query browser tab URLs to activate an existing matching tab. The scratchpad processes text you type and writes nonblank text to the system clipboard when you finish; other apps and system clipboard features may then access it. You can disable gestures, remove bindings, and manage permissions in system settings. Quitting the app stops its active input listener.
3. Network Activity and Actions
The settings interface may load a website's favicon.ico to illustrate a URL action, trying the configured origin and related root/www hosts. Those requests reveal ordinary connection information, including your IP address, to the contacted hosts. Opening a URL, launching another app, or executing a shell command can cause that website, app, or command to transmit data under its own behavior and privacy terms. Configure only actions you understand. GlyphGo does not implement user accounts, cloud configuration-sync services, or developer analytics upload features; this does not prevent the network requests and user-configured actions described above.
4. Retention and Control
You can edit or delete saved bindings in GlyphGo. Fully removing retained configuration also requires deleting both the primary configuration file and its backup after quitting the app; system backups may hold additional copies. Uninstalling the app alone may leave its configuration directory. The development browser preview has separate browser storage. Clearing configuration does not clear the system clipboard or records held by websites, other apps, or commands you launched.
5. Support and Updates
If you email support@yybit.cn, your email address and the message or attachments you choose to send are handled to respond. Do not send private configuration files or credentials unless you have removed sensitive details. Contact this address with questions or requests concerning support information you submitted. This policy will be updated as feature development continues to reflect current data handling practices.
